Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR) will meet the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) along with leaders of Commission III to discuss the commission`s rejection of the attendance of KPK deputy chairmen Bibit S Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah at the hearing on January 31.

The statement was made by House deputy speakers Priyo Budi Santoso and Taufik Kurniawan at the DPR/MPR building here on Friday.

Taufik Kurniawan wished Commission III would respect the deponeering by Commission III of the case of Bibit and Chandra, so that it was not necessary to reject the presence of the two at the DPR.

"The stance is still no decision of the House because of the absence of a more detailed mechanism toward that end," he said.

Therefore, the PAN executive board secretary general appreciated the presence of all KPK leaders as a form of support of DPR to the tasks of KPK in the eradication of corruption.

"Today the position should be mutual respect and avoid mutual intervention," Taufik said.

According to Priyo Budi Santoso, the meeting was only a consultation, and in which a solution could be produced to maintain the respect of all state institutions.

"The management already received a written statement of the management of Commission III. So we deemed it necessary to listen to the opinion of the KPK," he said.

He added that the House leadership believed that the decision of the Commission III must not be protracted by bringing the forum to the House plenum to maintain the heated political situation in Indonesia.

"If it is brought to the plenum, things would be worse, so it needs to be forgotten," Priyo said.
