Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono paid his last respect to Adjie Massaid, a legislator from the Democratic Party and actor, who passed away in the wee hours of Saturday.

"The president paid his last respect at 9 this morning," presidential spokesman Aldrin Pasha, said here Saturday.

The head of state was accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono on the occasion.

Born on August 7, 1967, Adjie is survived by a wife, Angelina Sondakh, and three children. He had divorced his first wife, Reza Artamevia, before he had married Angelina, a former Miss Indonesia and currently also a member of the Parliament from the Democratic party faction.

Adjie passed away at Fatmawati Hospital, south Jakarta, at 2 am local time on Saturday. He had been rushed to the hospital at 10 pm local time on Friday as he complained about pain in his chest after playing futsal.

His body was buried at Jeruk Purut public cemetery after being laid at the Parliament Building where his fellow legislators paid their last respect.
