Kalianda, Lampung (ANTARA News) - South Lampung police seized 6.2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia at Bakauheni port on Saturday (Feb 19), a police spokesman said here Monday.

Lampung Police Chief Brigadir General Sulistyo Ishak said here Monday two people, Afnal Zakaria (33) and Ismali (31), had been arrested for possessing crystal methamphetamine estimated at Rp15.5 billion.

Seaport and Bakauheni Port Police caught the perpetrators from Bireun, Aceh, in a routine operation on Saturday (Feb 2).

Sulistyo, who was accompanied by Adjunct Senior Commissioner Bahagia Dachi, said that the contraband packed in ten packages were brought by the suspects when they were in a bus going from Medan to Jakarta.

After-wards, he said, they put the narcotics in coffee and milk packs from Malaysia and put them in bags hidden under their seats.

"This kind of transmission is conventional, they used fishing boat from Malaysia to Belawan port in Medan," he said.

According to them, he said, the packages which were sent to Ahmad belonged to Malaysians, Lim Kwok Yin and Ah Lim Ping. The three names were still on the police wanted list (DPO).

"Lim Kwok Yin, Ah Lim Ping and Afnal Zakaria were in prison at Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia and they planned to do illegal drug business after their release," he said.

Besides, the police was still after Tahjudin in Jakarta, who ordered for the drugs.

"The couriers get Rp20 million per person for delivering the packages to Tajudin in Jakarta," he added.

He added, they could be sentenced to life imprisonment, 20 years in jail, or a minimum of 5 years in jail with the maximum fine of Rp8 trillion under Law no. 35/2009 on possession of illegal drugs.
