The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with 400 scholars and religious leaders from the Islamic nations taking part in the 24th International Conference on Islamic Unity sponsored by the Tehran-based World Assembly for Proximity of the Islamic Religions.
The Supreme Leader said that the enemies are making every endeavor to misportray the revolutions in the Islamic states as non-Islamic.
The Supreme Leader termed the current situation in the Muslim World as critical and said that the religious leaders and scholars of the Islamic states are expected to help strengthen the religious faith of the people and encourage them not to be intimidated by the false glory of the United States with reliance upon the help of the Almighty God.
The Supreme Leader said that magnificent movement is underway in the Islamic nations and the key for victory is to say no to the United States and rely upon the God?s promised assistance to the Muslim nations, citing the example of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Supreme Leader drew the attention of religious leaders to accurate leadership of the potentials of million-strong movements in the Islamic states protesting the current state of affairs.
Citing the great achievements the Islamic Republic of Iran has made in the past 32 years in science and technology despite eight-year Iraqi-imposed war (1980-1988) and the economic sanctions, the Supreme Leader said that the key for the victory has been to get rid of dependence on the United States.
The Supreme Leader cautioned the religious leaders against pinning hope on getting financial aid from the United States rather than rely on potentials of the Muslim nations and the promised assistance from Almighty God.
?Today, the Muslim people of Egypt enjoying the bright record in the Islamic civilization must take care of their revolution and leadership and not to allow a lackey of the Pharaoh to take leadership to mislead the movement,? the Supreme Leader said.
Elsewhere in his address, the Supreme Leader said that causing rift between the Shia and Sunni Muslims is a conspiracy of the enemies which should be thwarted.
Prior to the Supreme Leader`s remarks, Chairman of the World Assembly for Proximity of the Islamic Religions Ayatollah Taskhiri presented a report on theoretical and practical approach for the Islamic unity.
The scholars and religious leaders from the Islamic nations expressed their views about the Islamic resurrection in the Muslim World, calling for the Islamic unity.
They acknowledged that the Islamic Republic of Iran has introduced a successful example for the Muslim World and has achieved major progress in science and technology in the face of the obstacles the United States has created for Iran over the past three decades.(*)
