Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Four related cabinet ministers discussed the status of Maluku province as national fish barn at a coordinating meeting here on Tuesday.

The ministers are Fadel Muhammad of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry, Ahmad Helmi Faisal Zaini of the Ministry for Disadvantaged Regions, Agung Laksono of Coordinating Ministry for People`s Welfare, and Freddy Numbery of Transportation Ministry.

"Our discussion today is to place the launch of Maluku as national fish barn on a solid footing," Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono said after the meeting.

Agung said the discourse about Maluku as national fish barn came up during the international marine event of Sail Banda 2010.

"Many processes must be done to realize the discourse and therefore the discussion was part of its follow-up," Agung said, adding that the processes covered the provision of supporting facilities and infrastructure.

According to him, Maluku was potential to be the national fish barn because it was the largest fish producing area in Indonesia.
