In that dialog, the vice president in the company of his wife Herawati Boediono called on the teachers and students to develop the sense of tolerance and to strengthen harmony among themselves.
"Tolerance and harmony are the most fundamental assets in human life in this world. No matter how high or great a person is, he or she will never have peace and serenity in life in the absence of tolerance and harmony," the vice president said.
Boediono engaged in the dialog after opening a coordination meeting attended by Governors of Bengkulu, Lampung, Jambi, South Sumatera, and Bangka Belitung (Belajasumba).
The vice president officially opened the coordination meeting coinciding with Jambi Gold Expo 2011 at 9.15 am in the presence of several ministers including National Development Planning Minister Armida S. Alisjahbana, Health Minister Endang Sedyaningsih, Domestic Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Agriculture Minister Suswono, Forestry Minister Zulkifli Hasan, and deputy National Education Minister Fasli Jalal.
After the dialog, the vice president will officially open Jambi Expo 2011 and then with his entourage perform Friday prayer at Al-Falah grand mosque here.
Boediono and his wife will also meet representatives of farmers in Rasau, Batang Hari district, as well as recipients of micro credits, and the National Program for Community Empowerment (PNPM Mandiri) in Jambi province.(*)
