Cilacap, Central Java (ANTARA News) - State oil company Pertamina is still investigating the cause of the fire that broke out in its Lomanis oil refinery area in Cilacap, Central Java Province, early Saturday.

"We are still investigating the cause of the fire and the material losses inflicted by the fire. It`s under investigation and there is no casualty in the incident," Pertamina`s Cilacap Refinery Unit (RU) IV`s Public Relations Section Head Kurdi Susanto said in Cilacap, Saturday.

Pertamina`s Cilacap RU IV`s firefighters were trying to put out the fire.

He urged people living near the refinery complex to stay calm while the putting out and cooling down processes were going on.

"We apologize for the inconvenience," he said.

The fire started from Thank 31 T-2 containing High Octane Mogas Component (HOMC) at 4.55 am local time, Saturday.

"HOMC is a mixed substance to increase the value of octane in the premium gasoline fuel," he said.

The fire did not affect the oil fuel production process in the RU IV, he stated.

"The production process runs normally and other tanks surrounding the burned one have been emptied and are being cooled down," he explained.

Up to 8.30 am local time, the fire was still burning.
