Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The South Jakarta police have detained all suspects in the death of Citibank customer Irzen Octa.

"All legal requirements for their arrest have been met, so that they are all detained," the resort police command`s chief of intelligence, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Budi Irawan said here on Wednesday.

He said there were five suspects that had been detained rising from four with one not being detained because objective and subjective requirements for his detention were not fulfilled.

The five suspects detained were two Citibank employees known by their initials as BYT alias BI and A, and three debt collectors known as H, D and HS.

A,H, D and HS have been detained since their first interrogation while BI was detained later after strong evidence for it was found.

Irzen Octa who is also secretary general of the Nation Uniting Party (PPB) died after visiting a Citibank branch office at Jamsostek Tower to clarify his debt reaching Rp100 million.

It was believed he had received intimidation and light tortures from debt collectors before he died.

Police then named five suspects in connection with the case namely HS, H, D (debt collectors) and A and BY who are Citibank employees.

They are facing years in jail if they are proven guilty of tortures and causing death. (*)
