The president expressed his support for the strengthening of the Judicial Commission during his meeting with KY members at the Presidential Office here on Wednesday.
KY Chairman Erman Suparman told a press conference after the meeting with the president on Wednesday that the head of state also gave his positive response to the revision of Law No. 22 / 2004 on KY.
"The proposal was responded to positively by the president, including the efforts that had been made since long ago to revise Law No. 22 / 2004 on Judicial Commission. We shared with the president a lot of things and he supported the idea to reinforce the commission," Erman Suparman said.
The law on judicial commission is now under a revision process and is now being deliberated by the working committee of the House of Representatives (DPR). The revision also is supported by the ministry of law and human right affairs which accommodated all proposes on the strengthening of the commission.
"We could not yet reveal changes in the revision but we have submitted them to the working committee and were supported by the minister of law and human rights," Erman Suparman said.
He said that his side also discussed with the president about the welfare of judges which needed attention so that they would not committed deviations on economic reason.
"Judges are state officials whose welfare needs attention so that deviations would be prevented. The welfare of judges and other law enforcers needs serious attention," the Judicial Commission chief said.(*)
