Cirebon, W Java (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Police Chief General Timur Pradopo said that the institution is still conducting an investigation of the suicide bombing at Cirebon Police Precinct`s mosque on Friday at 12.20 pm local time.

The type of the bomb was still unknown and still under an investigation, he said in Cirebon shortly after the incident.

Timur said that the bomb may have been attached to the bomber`s body estimated to be 20-25 years old, judging from the total damage caused to the abdomen.

The National Police Chief also said that the bombing incident was the first in Cirebon and it will be the last.

He also ordered his men and Cirebon residents to increase their vigilance and security.

The suspected suicide bomb attack at Al Dzikro mosque in the compounds of the Cirebon police office in West Java on Friday killed a man and wounded at least 17 others.

The dead body was suspected to be the bomber himself and had been sent to the Dr. Soekanto police hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

Cirebon Police chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Herukoco was one of the injured, and is now undergoing an operation at Pertamina Hospital in Jakarta.

Cirebon Police`s human Resources Department chief and the Traffic Unit Police Chief, along with two civil servants were also injured in the incident. (*)
