Kebumen, Central Java (ANTARA News) - Police have named five people as suspects in the clash between military (TNI) personnel and villagers in Kebumen, Central Java, over a dispute on land ownership on Saturday.

"I have seen three of them in the detention cells. Another one is still being interrogated. But I have been informed that he also has been named a suspect," head of the advocacy team for litigation of the Urut Sewu, Kebumen, Farmers Advocacy Team, Teguh Purnomo, here on Monday.

He said he had visited them at the local police station with regard to coordination for their legal aid over the case.

He said four of them had been suspected of damaging TNI facilities in the military training ground in Urut Sewu, Setrojenar village. They are Edi Wiluyo, Mulyono, Sobirin and Solehan. They may be charged of violating Article 170 of the Criminal Code and are facing five years in jail if found guilty. Another one, Aris Panji, meanwhile was suspected of insulting the TNI institution.

Teguh said the naming of the suspects was based upon video recording of the clash and testimonies from some witnesses. "They have all been formally detained," he said.

He said the advocacy team consists of 15 lawyers from four legal aid institutes namely LBH Yogyakarta, LBH Semarang, Yapphi Solo and LBH Pakhis Kebumen.
