London (ANTARA News) - Head of the Capital Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) Gita Wiryawan said Spanish investors have become interested in Indonesia as a country having a very vast economic potential.

Gita Wiryawan found out about this positive development when promoting investment by the BKPM in Madrid, the Spanish capital, a press release received by ANTARA`s News London correspondent on Tuesday.

The BKPM chief was explaining the Spanish government and big companies on the Indonesian economy.

Gita Wirjawan in a meeting with the Spanish Public Works and Transportation Ministry said Indonesia had undergone a drastic change in bureaucratic procedures which would make it easier for investors to operate in the country.

Indonesia`s economic growth which has reached 6.1 pct proved that the country has a very big potential, especially in Public Private Partnership (PPP) cooperation in infrastructure.

Spain is known for its PPP system and in this case Indonesia wanted to learn from Spain in promoting and boosting infrastructure.

Indonesian ambassador to Spain Ibu Adiyatwidi Adiwoso in the meantime said that Indonesia is currently developing an MoU on cooperation in public works and transportation with Spain, expected to produce good results soon.

While in Spain the BKPM chief had meetings with local companies operating in infrastructure, technical engineering and finance, as well as fast train companies OHL, ACS, Endesa, Globaltech, Valdes, and BBVA.
