Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government has lifted the alert I security status after it was imposed for three days during Easter Day activities in the country, National Police Chief Gen Timor Pradopo said.

In a statement at the State Palace here on Tuesday, the National Police chief said that the security status of the country had been returned to its initial level.

"After the Easter Day activities, all are now tailored to the initial security conditions," he said.

The alert I security status was imposed by the government from Thursday evening 21 April 2011 to Sunday, April 24, 2011 following the discovery of high-explosive bombs before they could have time to explode ahead of the Easter celebration.

President Yudhoyono on Thursday, April 21, 2011 held a limited cabinet meeting to discuss the unexpected security disturbance problem.(*)
