According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) the epicenter of the earthquake was located 8.46 degrees Southern Latitude and 108.36 degrees Eastern Longitude, 108 km outhwest of Cilacap, Central Java, and 125 Southeast of Ciamis, West Java, at a depth of 70 km.
Previously, the region was also hit by an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale in Cilacap, Central Java, at 01:39:33 pm local time.
According the BMKG, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 8.60 degrees Southern Latitude and 108.36 degrees Eastern Longitude, 120 km of Southwest of Cilacap, Central Java, at a depth of 24 km.
There was no immediate ports on casualties or property damage.
