"Today, we held a bilateral meeting which proceeded in a good and productive manner and produced a number of commitments to increase cooperation in the days ahead."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao agreed to initiate periodic meetings between the leaders of the two countries.
"Both sides agreed to hold periodic meetings to discuss strategic issues at the deputy prime ministerial level. We will make use of the mechanism to increase coordination, foster common interest and plan economic cooperation," Chinese Prime Minister Jiabao said here on Friday.
President Yudhoyono said meanwhile that his meeting with the Chinese prime minister proceeded constructively and full of friendship to increase mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.
"Today, we held a bilateral meeting which proceeded in a good and productive manner and produced a number of commitments to increase cooperation in the days ahead. We discussed a lot of issues," the Indonesian president said.
Indonesia and China agreed to mutually strengthen commitment and respect for both independence and sovereignty over respective regions. Indonesia stressed its position to maintain its one China policy and support efforts for the two Chinas` reunification.
China also expressed its commitment to support and appreciate the sovereignty of the Unitary State Indonesia.
Both sides also expressed appreciation of their strategic partnership agreement signed on January 21, 2010. They agreed to make efforts to realize a number of working plans contained therein.
