"Around 21 MoUs," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa said after lunch with Vice President Boediono and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao here on Saturday.
The two countries` governments signed five MoUs on April 29 and 16 others between governments and businesses and between businesses and businesses of the two countries on Saturday (April 30).
The potential investment to come from the MoUs reaches US$10.4 billion.
According to the trade ministry the 21 MoUs include MoUs on joint activities between Indonesian and Chinese foreign ministries, between the Indonesian and Chinese governments for expansion and deepened bilateral economic and trade relations.
Others are MoUs between the Chinese ministry of industry and information technology and the Indonesian ministry of industry for industrial and technology cooperation and between Hanban and the Indonesian ministry of education for Chinese language teaching.
Also signed was the protocol for amendment of the MoU in marine cooperation between the Indonesian minister of marine resources and fisheries and the Chinese Marine Resource Administration.
Other MoUs signed were between the Indonesian minister of industry and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) for supporting industrial cooperation between the two countries which is worth US$4 billion and MoUs between the Indonesian minister of industry and Bank of China Limited in corporate financial service for the industrial sector worth US$4 billion.
Indonesia and China also signed MoUs between the Indonesian Assocation of Electronics Industry and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for exports and imports of machineries and electronic products to promote trade and investment cooperation between the two countries` business communities.
The Indonesian minister of industry has also signed a technical arrangement with SANY Group of China for the SANY Indonesia Industrial Park development project worth US$200 million.
Indonesia`s Perum Perumnas (state-owned housing estate company) meanwhile signed cooperation deal with Metallurgical Corporation of China Overseas Ltd. for low-cost housing development in a large scale and the development of a new city in Maja Area worth between US$150 and US$300 million.
Indonesia`s minister of communications and information meawnhile signed cooperation with Huawei on information technology development.
Indonesia and China also signed a contract agreement for coal-fired power plant development in Parit Baru with a capacity of 2x55MW worth US$100 million and an MoU for the Karama hydro-power project worth US$800 million.
The Indonesian province of West Papua has also signed an MoU with State Development and Investment Corporation of China (SDIC) for cement plant development project worth US$300 million.
Indonesian PT Graha Inti Jaya and PT Putra Bangun Bersama meanwhile signed a cooperation agreement with Tianjin Julong Group for oilpalm estate development worth US$200 million and PT Semen Grobogan Semarang signed cooperation with CTIEC for a cement plant worth US$260 million.
PT Sulbar Pembangunan meanwhile signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Corporation of China Overseas Ltd. for the development of infrastructure projects in West Sulawesi province worth US$60 million.
PT Cahaya Fajar Kaltim and Jiangxi Jiushen International Electromechanical Equipmnet Co. Ltd. made an EPC contract for MBALUT Phase II Extension 1x60 MW power project in Tanjung Batu, East Kalimantan worth UD$56 million.
The Technology Assessment and Application Agency meanwhile signed an MoU with BYD Company Ltd. and PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (INTI) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).
The Chine Development Bank (CDB) signed a MoU with Sinar Mas Pulp and Paper Products in financing worth more than US$165 million.
