"We agree to carry out the budget with full of accountability."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called on all stakeholders to prevent from the beginning potential deviation and misuse of state budget, particularly in the education sector.

"We do not want that later on we have a problem regarding state budget," the president said when he opened a limited cabinet meeting held to discuss budget for education in the Presidential Office here on Thursday.

The head of state said that when he had a consultation meeting with the leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR) both sides agreed to prevent potential deviation and misuse of budget from taking place.

"Yesterday we agreed to prevent (deviation) including corruption (by state officials and legislators). We agree to carry out the budget with full of accountability," the president said.

The limited meeting was attended by Vice President Boediono, the minister/state secretary, cabinet secretary and other state officials.

Yudhoyono said that related institutions needed cooperation to optimize the implementation of budget for education in an effort to ensure the success of educational programs.

He said that educational infrastructure which had been developed over the last two years also needed to continue to be improved in accordance with the increasing need.

"In the meeting today I want the minister of education and culture to explain it clearly and objectively the problems being faced. If we know the problems and if we are focused we would be able to overcome it," the head of state said.
