"This is a golden opportunity for Indonesia as the ASEAN chairman to build a positive image and global `positioning`."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia should be more aggressive as the chairman of ASEAN, especially in making the regional organization play a role in the global arena, a legislator said.

He was speaking to welcome the ASEAN summit which will be held in Jakarta on May 4-8, 2011, and provide concrete feedback on how Indonesia should conduct itself as the ASEAN chair.

Fayakhun also said there was still plenty of "homework" for ASEAN to finish and waiting to be solved such as the Thai-Cambodian border dispute, democratization in Myanmar, especially CAFTA`s implementation which had caused much controversy, including in Indonesia," he said.
