Cairo (ANTARA News/Reuters) - The Tunisian Interior Ministry was quoted on Wednesday by pan-Arab television channels as denying that the wife and daughter of Muammar Gaddafi crossed into Tunisia several days ago.

Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya said the spokesmen had denied that any members of the Gaddafi family were in Tunisia.

A Tunisian security source told Reuters earlier on Wednesday that Gaddafi`s wife Safia and his daughter Aisha had entered Tunisia with a Libyan delegation.

Al Jazeera quoted a spokesman as saying Tunisia would arrest any members of the Gaddafi family should they enter the country under a U.N.-imposed travel ban. (C003)
