The quake which happened on Monday at about 02 a.m. local time was centered 24 km northwest of Kebumen district at a depth of 11 km, head of the Banjarnegara Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Ahmad Lani told Antara at Dieng highland on Monday.
The quake was located at 7.46 degrees southern latitude and 109.66 degrees eastern longitude, the agency said.
In the meantime, Banjarnegara resident, Dhian said the earthquake shocks are felt quite high.
"Hopefully, the earthquake rocked does not Mount Dieng," she said.
On Sunday, the temblor measuring 3.7 Richter Scale which happened at about 09 p.m. local time, was located at 7.60 degrees southern latitude and 109.67 eastern longitude or at a depth of 10 km, Ahmad Lani said.
This local earthquake can be felt upto III Modify Mercalli Intensity (MMI) in Banjarnegara, he cited.
Asked about the cause of the earthquake, Ahmad Lani said he was still awaiting the analysis results from the central BMKG.
In addition, on Sunday (June 5) a 4.3-magnitude earthquake shook Muara Aman, Lebong district, Bengkulu province, at 4.41 p.m.
The quake was centered 65 km southwest of Muara Aman at a depth of 56 km, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said in its official website.
The temblor was felt by people living in Muara Aman for a few seconds, said a local resident, Hermawan.
