"He offered a cooperation in the development of MP3EI program, especially in terms of connectivity, human resources and innovation of those with a great interest in the development of human resources and innovation programs by way of training in building start up companies," he said after receiving CEO of Microsoft here on Monday.
Hatta also said that Microsoft is also working together with the Ministry of Education in building program relating to education because this sector also indirectly supports the MP3EI program.
"They are very interested in cooperation in higher education because it is the sector that we have reached a success in developing innovations because under the 3rd pillar of the master plan of science and technology without which we cannot develop our knowledge," he said.
Hatta said Microsoft will also develop broadband networks and the government will give a support in incentives, to enable investment to enter the remote areas.
"Indonesia has developed the broadband, and they are very interested. I told them to develop broadband in the regions of low tension, which we will develop under an incentive from the government," he added.
He also said the role of the technology information industry as an important boost of growth and competitiveness will open up wide opportunities for making progress which will help Indonesia change into a science based community with an economic growth boosted by innovations.
Microsoft Corporation`s Chairman of Emerging Markets and Chief Advisor to the Chief Operating Officer Orlando Ayala said he will train 23 thousand teachers to teach information technology to students in Indonesia.
In addition, Microsoft also wished to be involved in the development of micro businesses to open their eyes for technology by giving them training and funding, to make the companies to complete technologically and globally. (*)
