The Entrepreneurship Delegation will be led by Steven Koltai, the State Department`s Senior Advisor for Global Entrepreneurship, and will be hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Program Indonesia (GEPI).
The Entrepreneurship Delegation will enhance U.S. and Indonesian efforts to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen business ties under the Comprehensive Partnership.
Improving trade and investment is one of the six pillars of the Comprehensive Partnership.
"Entrepreneurship is one of the fastest growing areas of our Comprehensive Partnership, successfully promoting stronger ties and greater people-to-people engagement to the benefit of both our economies," U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia Scot Marciel said.
The centerpiece of the Delegation`s visit will be a "Showcase of Indonesia`s Entrepreneurs" during which 32 Indonesian start-ups will present business plans to the Delegation.
Start ups can still register their business ideas until June 19th at: http://gepi.mekar.biz. Start ups selected will make presentations to the Entrepreneurship Delegation.
The Showcase finale and announcement of winners will take place in Bali on July 22. The finale will also kick off the Indonesian-led Regional Entrepreneurship Summit (RES) hosted by the Indonesian Minister of Trade Mari Pangestu.
Members of the Entrepreneurship Delegation will include Arthur Benjamin, Serial entrepreneur and investor, focusing on the media and education industries; Seth Goldstein, Serial entrepreneur (Roots Markets, Stickybits, Sitespecific, Majestic Research), Entrepreneur in Residence at Flatiron Partners; Yao-Hui Huang, Co-founder of New York City-based incubator The Hatchery; Jalak Jobanputra, Early stage investor in a number of funds; and Faysal Sohail, Managing Director of CMEA Capital (one of the leading Silicon Valley venture capital firms).
