Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - Australia still put behind bars in Brisbane three Indonesian boys from Rote Island, East Nusa Tenggara, on charges of human trafficking.

"We hope Australia would return our sons to Indonesia. We have been looking for them for a long time but only recently did we know that they were in an Australian jail," Jubliana Ndolu (50), mother of John Ndolu (16) who is being jailed in Brisbane, said here on Sunday.

The same hope was also expressed by Albert Lani (48), father of the other two, Ose Lani (15) and Ako Lani (15).

"We hope they would be sent back home soon. We are happy to hear that they are still alive," Abert Lani said.

The three youths who hail from Daudolu village, Rote Barat Laut sub-district, were arrested by Australian patrol officers in January 2011 when they were on a boat carrying tens of illegal migrants who wanted to come to Australia.

The tree youths were arrested and detained on charges of smuggling people into Australia. They have been sentenced to 5 to six years imprisonment.

Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Michael Tene said on Friday, however that the three boys who have been held in an Australian jail for adults for months for alleged involvement in people smuggling will be released soon. (*)
