Bengkulu (ANTARA News) - Bengkulu fisherman will receive 34 fishing boats under the joint business group (KUBE) scheme for 2011 to 2014 with a total budget of Rp51 billion.

"Each of the boats is worth Rp 1.5 billion," head of the fishing agency of the Bengkulu marine agency Nangcik said here on Friday.

The program is issued by presidential instruction no 1 of 2010 on priority fishery development known nationally as INKA-MINA scheme for the distribution of 1000 fishing boats.

Each of the fishing boats has a capacity of 30 to 60 gross tons, 20.5 meters long, 4.5 meters wide, and 150 centimeters high, fitted with mini ring dragnet and gill net.

In 2011 Bengkulu will receive three units for three KUBEs in Bengkulu city.

The three boats under currently under construction, and in November ready for operation, Nangcik said.

All the fishermen have a right to this program by setting up groups, which each group having 10 to 20 members. (*)
