"We have been asked about the forged letter and summoned as witnesses," Arsyad said after Friday prayers at the National Police Headquarters here.
The two were questioned in connection with suspect Mashuri Hasan, an MK staff caught in Bandung that morning.
"Investigators questioned about the forged letter, relationship with Mashuri Hasan, Zainal Arifin Husein and Prof. Mukhtie Fajar. That is all," Arsyad said.
Regarding alleged involvement of his son, Tjakra, in the case that had made Dewi Yasin Limpo from the Hanura Party failed to win a seat in the House of Represenatives, Arsyad said "yes, he is my son but (the allegation) is not true. That is a character assasination,` he said.
He said the allegation came from those who wished to conduct character assassination on his family.
Arsyad also denied that he had communicated or met with Andi Nurpati, a ruling Democrat Party executive who is formerly a General Elections Commission (KPU) official implicated in the case.
The deputy chief of the National Police`s Crime Investigation Department (Bareskrim), Inspector General Mathius Salempang, meanwhile said that the investigators had already named suspects in the forgery case. He however declined to tell their number.
Regarding the scene of the crime, he said "it initially started at the MK but it does not mean that it would not involve KPU."
Regarding the four witnesses questioned on Tuesday Mathius said they were questioned because they were at the scene which is one of the rooms at MK who police believed knew well about what had happened with regard to the letter.
He said the police had so far questioned 19 witnesses in connection with the case.
Police had said they had found a copy of the 2009 MK ruling letter stating Dewi Yasin Limpo`s failure to take a seat at the House of Represenatives to represent South Sulawesi.
MK chief Mahfud MD has reported Andi Nurpati to the police in connection with her alleged involvement in the case.
