then emptied the contents of the backpack and found three food packages that reads "Chicken Soup"..Makassar, S. Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Makassar Customs and Excise Surveillance officers foiled the smuggling of six kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth Rp12 billion on Sunday.
"The smuggling of crystal methamphetamine weighing six kilograms was the first time in 2011. This is the greatest foil so long as I work here," the Makassar customs official Amin Trisobri said here on Sunday.
According to Amin Trisobri, the customs personnel seized the contraband on Friday (July 1), when an Air Asia QZ passenger plane r from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, left a backpack at Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin airport at 5.5 pm local time.
Then at 5.15 pm, customs officers began checking the passengers` luggage by X-Ray machine and extensive examination at the airport.
The officers then emptied the contents of the backpack and found three food packages that reads "Chicken Soup".
Based on the laboratory test results, the contents of the food package appeared to be methamphetamine HCl worth Rp12 billion equivalent with US 141 million dollars, the official said.
