"We have given them tolerance so far. But now after Nasdem (Nasional Demokrat) is converted from mass organization into a political party we will revoke the membership of our cadres who are still in Nasdem," he said here on Friday.
The decision also applies even for Surya Paloh as the founder of Nasdem although he is still registered as a Golkar Party cadre, he said.
"This is a form of the party`s sanction on anyone who has violated rules," he said after attending the installation of the East Java regional executive board of the Indonesian Engineer Association (PII) for 2011-2014.
He said the sanction is not yet effective while Nasdem is still a mass organization. "But now after it has become a political party Golkar cadres who are still there will be ousted," he said.
Regarding the resignation of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono (HB) X from Nasdem Akbar said it was normal as an expression of disappointment of the declarator.
"Perhaps he did not like to see the mass organization suddenly changed into a political party. Therefore he resigned," he said.
Akbar Tanjung was scheduled to attend a traditional ceremony of "ruwatan" to be held at the former Majapahit kingdom site in Trowulan, Mojokerto, which would also be attended by Golkar Party chairman Aburizal Bakrie Friday evening.
Organizing committee chairman Ridwan Hisyam said the ceremony was held to awaken the nation which is now facing a moral crisis.
