During his visit to the tomb, the president was accompanied by his wife Mrs Ani Yudhoyono, and his second son Edhi Baskoro (Ibas).
Among the president`s party included Chief Political and Security Affairs Minister Djoko Suyanto, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi and Army Chief of Staff Pramono Edi Wibowo.
President Yudhoyono and Mrs Ani Yudhoyono who wore brown batik shirts arrived at the graveyard complex at 15.40 pm local time.
The president and family members prayed for the late Sarwo Edhi led by cleric Daud Muklas of the Al Mutaqin Boarding School in Purworejo.
After the prayer session for about 15 minutes, the president scattered flowers on the tomb of Sarwo Edhi and on a number of other relatives` tombs.
Deputy Chairman of Purworejo Regional Legislative Assembly Muhammad Abdullah, who took part in welcoming the president at the graveyard, said the president recounted about the struggle of Sarwo Edhi, a general who endured a modest life so that he deserved to be followed.
