Semarang, Central Java (ANTARA News) - PB Djarum Kudus will send second-tier players to the Singapore International Series badminton championship on July 26-30, the club`s chief, Yoppy Rosimin, said here on Tuesday.

He said the event was below the "challenge" and therefore he would only send second grade players.

"We will field players that have just emerged to give experience," he said.

He said the prize of the series category event was lower than that of the challenge which offers US$15,000 compared to US$5,000 for the series.

He said Djarum Kudus would also send players to play in the men`s, women`s and mixed doubles events.

"For the singles players we are now still seeking the right event," he said.

The players that would play in Singapore are Arya Maulana Aldiartama/Edi Subaktiar, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Lukhi Apri Nugroho, Felix Kinalsal/Risky Susanto, Didit Juang/Praveen Jordan and Jones Rafly Jansen/Dandi Prabudita in the men`s doubles.

To play in the women`s doubles are Daeva Oktaviani/Rirn Amelia and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaya/Khaeriah Rosmini and in the mixed doubles are Lukhi Apri Nugroho/Ririn Amelia.

Dandi Prabudita/Jones Rafly Jansen were the runner-up of the national circuit in the third region in Semarang, Central Java, recently, after beaten by Rizki Yanu Kresnayandi/Albert Saputra, 17-21, 21-18 and 17-21.

Edi Subaktiar pairing with Annisa Saufika meanwhile were the champion of the junior category in the event in Semarang.

Lukhi Apri Nugroho/Ririn Amelia were the champion of the Asia U-19 in India sometime ago beating Chinese pair Chen Zhoufu/Xiong Rui 21-15, 18-21 and 21-14.

Praveen Jordan pairing with Rianto Rangga Yave were the semi-finalists beaten by China Taipei players Lu Ching Yao/Huang Chu En, 11-21, 21-19, 14-21.
