Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta police would deploy as many as 2,500 personnel to ensure security during the pre-World Cup 2014 qualification round match between Indonesia and Turkmenistan at 9pm here on Thursday.

"We will take care of security as of this afternoon," Jakarta police spokesman Senior Commissioner Baharudin Djafar said.

He said the police would set up four security tiers before and after the match to ensure security. Thousands of spectators are expected to watch the most popular game in the country at the Bung Karno Stadium that could accommodate up to 100,000 people.

Regarding traffic security Burhanuddin said the police would not change the normal traffic flows but rerouting would be done in case traffic jams occurred.

He said the police had been ready with a rerouting scenario in case traffic jams occurred at Senayan area where the stadium is located in South Jakarta.

Indonesia played to a 1-1 draw in the recent match in Turkmenistan. Many fans have expressed hope that Indonesia would win in the match now.

The second leg match would be led by Australian referee Benjamin Williams helped by linesmen Anaz (Australia) and Luke Brennan (Australia).

Tickets have been sold as of 11am at a price between Rp30,000 and Rp500,000, PSSI (national football association) media officer Asep Saputra said.
