"I am convinced the President has never committed serious violations according to the 1945 Constitution and so there is no reason for impeaching him," he said here on Monday commenting impeachment discourse in the media.
He said there was no constitutional reason for impeaching President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono because his term had been stated for five years (2009-2014).
"Therefore it is impossible for any group to unseat the President before his term ends in 2014," he said.
Dipo said SBY was elected democratically in 2009 with 60.8 percent votes in one round and according to Article 7 of the 1945 Constitution his term is five year. That means constitutionally President SBY will be in the office until 2014, he said.
He said "anyone seeking support to unconstitutionally unseat President SBY will meet the people who are ready to fight unconstitutional or anarchic acts which are against the constitution."
Dipo said supporting or not supporting SBY was no longer a relevant issue because SBY had been elected democratically and constitutionally in 2009 to govern until the end of his term in 2014.
He said the government of President SBY had never been discouraged by some who did not support it as it was part of democracy.
"To agree or not agree with the policy and performance of SBY is a common thing so long as it is expressed within a constitutional corridor," he said.
He said SBY could no longer for president in 2014 based on the constitution.
Dipo said the arrival of leaders of twelve Islamic organizations (at the palace to meet with President SBY) recently was for showing their consistency to support him according to the constitution until 2014.
"So, it is their right to support the constitution that states that the government is SBY is for five year, that the term for DPR (the House of Representatives) and MPR (People`s Consultative Assembly) is five year," he said.
Dipo who flanked President Yudhoyono during the meeting with the leaders of the Islamic organizations said the essence of the meeting was that the Islamic leaders wished to show their support to the legitimate constitution.
The government and the organizations agreed to prioritize the four pillars of nationhood namely Pancasila (state ideology), the 1945 Constitution, the Unity in Diversity principles and the Unitary State of Indonesia.
Regarding criticism on the government so far, he said, the President had so far admitted that shortages did occur which he continued to overcome.
Dipo however said that the shortages could not be escalated for conducting unconstitutional acts to unseat the President before 2014.
He reminded that according to Article 7A of the 1945 Constitution the President could only be unseated before the end of his term if he was proven conducting treasonous acts against the state, corruption or bribery or other dishonorable acts and unable to fulfill the the mandate.
"Right now even indications to that effect have never been found, moreover proofs," he said.
