Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is expected to go on a Ramadan safari visiting a number of regions, presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said here on Friday.

"The president plans to go on a Ramadan safari," Julian said on Friday at the presidential office.

Julian said the president would probably begin his Ramadan safari after August 17 but no specific date had been set.

He said the president`s safari tour would of regions that could be easily reached from Jakarta by land transportation.

"It will be to a number of areas that can be reached by land from Jakarta, perhaps to Central Java, and Yogyakarta," he said, adding that during the fasting month the president had a number of things to do, including religion-related activities.

He said the head of state also held a fast-breaking gathering with the leaders of state institutions, among others with the leaders of the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representatives Council (DPD), People`s Consultative Assembly (MPR), and Supreme Audit Board (BPK) on Wednesday evening.

The fast-breaking function on Wednesday at the State Palace was also attended by Vice President Boediono, United Indonesia Cabinet ministers, head of non-departmental institutions, leaders of state enterprises, and a number of foreign ambassadors.
