Jakarta (ANTARA News) - First Lady Ani Yudhoyono is to be among a number of national figures who will receive medals of honor on the occasion of Indonesia`s independence anniversary on August 17.

Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha confirmed here on Friday Mrs Ani Yudhoyono would receive a medal along with former finance minister Sri Mulyani, Taufik Kiemas, Shinta Abdurrahman Wahid, Mufidah Jusuf Kalla and Aburizal Bakrie.

He said they would receive the "Adipradana" medals from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at a ceremony at the presidential palace at 3pm on Friday.

Taufik Kiemas is currently the chairman of the People`s Consultative Assembly while Shinta Abdulrrahman Wahid is the wife of the later president Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid and Mufidah Kalla is the wife of former vice president Jusuf Kalla. Aburizal Bakrie is now the general chairman of Golkar Party.

Julian said he did not know who would represent Sri Mulyani as she is now in the US working as a managing director of the World Bank and certainly would not be able to come.

The Adipradana is the third highest medal after the Adipurna and the Mahaputera. It is given to those who have given the best service to the country.
