Merak, Banten (ANTARA News) - The flows of Idul Fitri travelers at Merak port of Banten are expected to peak four days before the D-Day on August 26, 2011, with an estimated passengers of 5,600, a transportation official said.

"We have predicted the peak of Idul Fitri travelers at Merak ferry port will peak four days before the D-Day," Irwansyah, head of the Merak Integrated Terminal (TTM), said.

He said that the peak of the Idul Fitri exodus at the ferry port this year was different from that in the previous year when the peak happened three days before the D-Day.

"The peak will happen four days before the D-Day this year because the government agencies and companies will begin to provide holiday leaves for their employees for days before the D-Day," he said.

Irwnsyah said that based on experience the flows of travelers began to show an increasing trend eight days before the D-Day.
