Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Ministry of State-owned Enterprises (SOE) will carry out an evaluation of the management of PT Telkom in connection with a slowing of its financial performance of late.

"We see that Telkom`s financial performance is stagnating. Therefore, we need to conduct an overall evaluation of its management`s performance," State-owned Enterprise Minister Mustafa Abubakar said here on Monday.

Data at the SOE ministry showed that PT Telkom in 2010 posted a net profit of Rp11.537 trillion or slightly up from that in the previous year when the figure was Rp11.399 trillion.

In the meantime in the first semester of 2011, the net profit of Telkom dropped 1.5 percent to Rp5.94 trillion from Rp6.03 trillion in the same period in 2010.

The minister said that his ministry would also carry out evaluation on PT Telkomsel, a subsidiary of PT Telkom which operated on cellular services.

"The contribution of Telkomsel to Telkom`s net profit accounts for 65-70 percent. Telkom depends very much on Telkomsel," he said.(*)
