"Since August 17, 2011, yesterday, Umar Patek has become a terrorism suspect, or exactly seven days after we received him," the head of the National Police`s public relations division Inspector General Anton Bachrul Alam said here on Thursday.
Umar Patek is facing several charges including terrorism and violating immigration laws.
"Umar Patek also knew about the training program in Aceh and had kept the information secret," he said.
He said Umar Patek on June 2009 sent four firearms from the Philippines to Indonesia.
"Umar Patek then joined Dulmatin (another terror suspect already killed in a shootout) until 2010. Two of the guns were given to Dulmatin and he kept the other two which have now been confiscated," he said.
Umar Patek was caught in Pakistan and deported to Indonesia for violating immigration laws.
The police have coordinated with the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) and the foreign ministry to confirm Umar Patek`s arrest in Pakistan.
Umar Patek had become the most wanted terrorist suspect for his involvement in the first Bali bombings in 2002 that killed more than 200 people.
