Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Central Executive Board of the National Awakening Party (PKB) has dispatched 1,300 Idul Fitri travelers through its free mudik (home-bound trips) program.

The departure of the Idul Fitri travelers in 23 buses were seen off by PKB General Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar at the premises of the PKB headquarters here.

"Like in previous years, we are now sending home again Idul Fitri revelers who want to celebrate Lebaran in their home towns," Muhaimin said.

He asked the travelers to say prayers during their trip home so that they would remain safe on the way.

Coordinator of the joint mudik program Mohammad Thoha said the buses would take the travelers to their destinations such as Surabaya in East Java, Yogyakarta, Semarang in Central Java, Wonogiri and Rembang.

"Some of the buses will take the Northern Java Highway and others the southern highway," he said.
