"The government of President Yudhoyono has from the beginning and until now always cared about law enforcement and human rights. We will always ensure that no serious and systematic human rights violations will ever happen again," he said at the presidential office.
He said views that the government had ignored the settlement of Munir case were not correct.
"I think it is not relevant to question the investigation. The process is continuing. It is being done fully within the corridors of law and law enforcement. The government will never interfere and hinder (the process)," he said.
Munir died on September 7, 2004 during a flight from Jakarta to the Netherlands.
Amnesty International had sent a letter on September 6, 2011 to Attorney General Basrief Arief in connection with the settlement of the case.
