"If the President wishes to evaluate the performance of his ministers it is up to him. That is indeed his authority," he said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Sports Minister Andi Mallarangeng said he was ready to accept the consequences if he was on the list of cabinet members to be replaced in a reshuffle.
"The President has the right to evaluate and change his cabinet ministers according to the rules. The task of ministers is only to work well," he said after a working meeting with House Commission X here on Monday.
He said as one of the cabinet ministers he had always worked well and focused on carrying out his programs.
"If the President wishes to evaluate the performance of his ministers it is up to him. That is indeed his authority," he said.
Andi who is also known as a politician from the ruling Democrat Party said all cabinet ministers had signed a working contract with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and so they were all ready in case the President would replace them or move them because that was the President`s prerogative.
He said he was not worried about the bribery case at his office which is now being handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The KPK had so far named four suspects in the case, namely Wafid Muharram who is a sports ministry`s secretary, Mindo Rosalina Manullang, marketing director of PT Anak Negeri, Muhamad El Idris, marketing director of PT Duta Graha Indah and Muhammad Nazaruddin, former treasurer of the ruling Democrat Party.
"With regard to the bribery case in the SEA Games Athlete Building project I have already given my explanation to the KPK," Andi said.
Andi Mallarangeng and Manpower Minister Muhaimin Iskandar are rumored as being on the list of ministers to be evaluated.
