"The people`s welfare minister has confirmed to visit Ambon next Monday, September 26," Governor Ralahalu said, adding that the minister would try to obtain first hand information about some locations which were destroyed in a communal clash early this month.
Ralahalu explained that besides obtaining first hand information about the destroyed locations, Agung Laksono would also chair a coordination meeting with local government officials, military and police officers, religious leaders, and community figures in the frame work of post-conflict regional recovery.
"With Agung Laksono`s direct visit to the locations which were destroyed in the conflict, we hope rehabilitation assistance process will be sped up," Ralahalu said.
The governor added that the refugee response team chaired by second assistant of Maluku regional secretary Burhan Banjar was holding a coordination meeting with the people`s welfare minister`s staffers to formulate the recovery and renovation of houses that were burned down and destroyed in the conflict.
