Chief Judge Rosidin when reading the verdict at the West Jakarta District Court said the three were proven guilty of helping Abu Tholut , a terror suspect wanted by the police, to hide.
The three were Sri Puji who got six years in jail, Sukirno five years and four months and Wardi four years.
"They have been legally and convincingly found guilty and are hereby sentenced to four to six years in jail," he said.
Rosidin said Sri Puji knew that Abu Tholut was wanted by the police as a terror suspect but still provided him with a hiding place.
Sukirno and Wardi meanwhile had information about Abu Tholut`s whereabouts but failed to report to the authorities. "They knew that Abu Tholut was a wanted person but they did not report what they knew about his whereabouts," he said.
Abu Tholut had even handed them a rifle and its ammunition for safekeeping, he added.
"So, they had deliberately kept information about terrorist activity to themselves ," he said.
The three accepted the verdict and would not appeal it. Abu Tholut himself had been sentenced to eight years in jail.(*)
