Palu, C Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Floods damaged around 540 houses at seven villages in South Banawa Sub-district, Donggala District, Central Sulawesi Province, last Friday (Oct 14).

Public facilities including five elementary school buildings, one junior high school building, a traditional market, health clinics, and seven mosques/churches were also damaged in the disaster, according to Zulfan of the Central Sulawesi Disaster Mitigation Agency, here on Monday.

The seven flood-affected villages are located IN a river basin area. Mbuwu and Lalombi villages were among the worst-hit villages.

At Mbuwu village, 397 houses were damaged and at Lalombi 195 houses. The floods killed three people in South Banawa Sub-district.
