Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The implementation of state budget funded projects will proceed transparently to support Indonesia`s economic growth and prevent it from the threat of global financial crisis in Europe, a senior minister said.

"We have to be ready to face what is likely to happen and one of the instruments that could be used to maintain economic growth is the (absorption of the) state budget," Chief Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa said.

The minister made the remarks in a coordination meeting on the finalization of the the Draft Law on the State Budget 2012 (RUU APBN 2012) here on Monday.

He said that if the budget was not absorbed well the state would suffer a loss because it meant that there were projects that were not done so that it would have bad impact on the economic growth.

"Each post of the budget which is not properly spent, and does not greatly provide effect for the economic growth will cause two-fold losses. We will not be able to do business as usual. Each project, no matter how big its value, should meet its target as it will have effect on the growth," the minister said.

He said that a sound state budget would support the government`s strategic programs and activities contained in the mid-term national development scheme, the government`s work plan and its master plan for acceleration and expansion of Indonesia`s economic development.

The government, the House of Representatives` Budgetary Body and Bank Indonesia (the central bank) have been conducting a series of deliberations since September 8, 2011, to finalize the RUU APBN 2012.(*)
