The statement was made in a press conference at the Education and Culture Ministry in Jakarta Tuesday discussing the outcome of the UNESCO session.
M Nuh said Indonesia also fully supported Palestine as the 195th full member of UNESCO.
He also said Southern Sudan has also become full member.
"Palestine became the 195th UNESCO official member and Southern Sudan the 194th member", said M Nuh, Indonesian chief delegate in the event.
Indonesia has also expressed Intervention and National Declaration such as the importance of building peace and sustainable development. Indonesia as mega cultural laboratory, ethnic differences, was invited to attend the sixth conference the Invisible Cultural Heritage in Bali in November 2011 and the First Cultural Forum in Indonesia next year.
Indonesia also presented an appreciation to UNESCO for recognizing angklung, wayang, batik, and kris as human cultural forms.
Besides Indonesia also supported the importance of language in cultural diversities, international art education week to support people in the hinter parts of the country and protection against these people and their languages which are disappearing.
In another important matter, Indonesia also held bilateral meetings with South Korea, Iran and Norway to discuss cooperation in education, culture, technology and other sciences, follow the E-9 meeting, namely nine countries with the biggest populations.
Also attending cooperation meetings on development of education, sciences, and culture of Islamic countries (ISESCO) to discuss cooperation in UNESCO and ISESCO.
Another outcome of the session was the joining of Indonesia in the Executive Council and the election of Madame Katalin Bogyay of Hungary as president.
All UNESCO leaderships are women, namely Madame Irina Bokova (Director General) and Madame Eleonora Mitrofanova (Head of Executive Board).
The UNESCO meeting will be concluded on November 10.
Besides that the Minister of Education and Culture said it will also develop an educational system to reduce the number of drop outs which in 2012 by giving more attention to programs of scholarship, and other related sectors.(*)
