Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s woman swimmer Yessy Yosaputra set a new record in the women`s 200-m back stroke of the 26th Southeast Asian Games here on Sunday.

Yessy set the new SEA Games record at the swimming pool of the Jakabaring Aquatic Stadium here clocking at 2 minutes, 15.73 seconds, breaking the old record of 2 minutes, 16.76 seconds under the name of Akkiko Thomson of the Philippines.

It was the first gold contributed by the Indonesian swimmer to the Indonesian gold medal tally.

The silver medal for the women`s 200-m back stroke was won by Dorothy Grace Hong of the Philippines, clocking at 2 minutes, 17.12 seconds while the bronze one was bagged by Li Tao of Singapore who clocked at 2 minutes, 19.37 seconds.(*)
