Roger Crook, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding, said: "DHL Global Forwarding is performing very well in a difficult environment, with excellent first half year results. However there are significant growth opportunities that we can leverage better to extend our overall performance. A new form of governance around the world that focuses on countries as business drivers and better mirrors how our clients are organized regionally will help us grow faster than the market."
Dr. Leung said: "Asia Pacific is a key growth region of DHL Global Forwarding worldwide. In aligning with our customers and operating as a single region, we will be even stronger, swifter and more effective in capitalizing on the fast growth of intra-Asia trade that bring with it vast opportunities in the air, ocean and road freight sectors. Our country managers and I are looking forward to the challenge ahead."
Amadou Diallo, CEO of Africa and South Asia Pacific, will become the new CEO of Freight, a fast-growing worldwide unit of DHL Global Forwarding. Both Dr. Leung and Mr. Diallo will continue to be members of the Global Forwarding Management Board and report directly Mr. Crook.
Dr. Kelvin Leung was promoted from Chief Operating Officer of DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific to CEO of North Asia Pacific in 2008. He has over 20 years logistics experience, having joined Danzas AEI, now known as DHL Global Forwarding, in 2002 as Managing Director for Hong Kong, South China and Macau. In 2004, he became Vice President of South East Pacific Region for DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, helping the company become market leader and more than double its size.
