The ASEAN SAI is newly established with the objective of exchanging experiences in audits among the 10 member countries of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), according to information from the presidential office`s press and media bureau.
Prior to the ASEAN SAI Summit opening, the head of state received a courtesy call by ASEAN Secretary General Surin Pitsuwan and Executive Director of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) Hidetoshi Nishimura.
After opening the ASEAN SAI Summit, President Yudhoyono held a bilateral meeting with Timor Leste President Jose Ramos Horta at 10.30 am local time.
Later in the evening, Yudhoyono is scheduled to receive Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at 7 pm local time.
The 19th ASEAN Summit, the ASEAN+3 Summit, the Sixth East Asian Summit, and the ASEAN and India Summit are taking place here from November 17-19, 2011.
The ASEAN Summit and the Sixth East Asian Summit will be participated in by leaders of 18 countries consisting of 10 ASEAN member countries and eight dialog partners, namely China, Japan, India, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Russia.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. (*)
