Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Indonesian boxer Mandiangan Matius advanced to the finals after beating Malaysia`s Adnan Abdul Awadulah 16-2 in the 60-kg class of the 26th SEA Games.

In the competition taking place at Palembang`s Basket Hall on Wednesday evening, Matius received resistance from the Malaysian boxer in the first round but won with a score of 5-1.

In the third round, he scored 4-1, bringing the final score to 16-2.

In the semifinals, Matius will meet Ahmad Muhamad Ridwan of Singapore who defeated Khonavang Khammolina of Laos in the quarterfinals.

Also advancing to the semifinals in the 60-kg class was Ardee Saylom of Thailand who will meet Carly Suarez of the Philippines.

Ardee beat Myanmar`s Pyae Phyo Hein 18-5 while Carly outclassed Phal Sophat of Cambodia 20-5. (*)
