Bandung, West Java (ANTARA News) - A search and rescue team has found the bodies of three people who had been in the Cessna 172 PK plane that crashed in the Mount Ciremai area, Majalengka, West Java, recently.

"So, at 7.44 am the team arrived at the scene and found the three bodies in the aircraft wreckage," West Java police spokesman Adjunct Senior Commissioner Martinus Sitompul said when contacted by phone to confirm the finding here on Tuesday.

He said the three bodies were found piled up in the front part of the aircraft.

He said the bodies were initially seen as one. "So, yesterday we thought it was only one. But when we approached it it was found there were three bodies piled up." he said.

He said the aircraft was found on a mountain slope and it was believed it had hit the slope near Kawah Burung.

He said a total of 215 search and rescue personnel had been sent to find the ill-fated plane including from the police Mobile Brigade, villagers of Argalingga, local military command, Wanadri (nature lovers group), Basarnas (National Search and Rescue Agency), Bogor Search and Rescue Community and the Marine force.
