Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Capital Investment Coordination Board (BKPM) will not discriminate between domestic and foreign companies in the granting of tax holidays, a BKPM official said.

"If domestic companies meet the requirements, we will also provide them with tax holidays. We will not differentiate . What we are going to differentiate is the types of the business they are engaged in ," BKPM Deputy Chief for capital control and implementation HM Azhar Lubis said here on Thursday.

He said a number of foreign companies were interested in making investment in Indonesia. Among them was mining tool supplier Caterpillar which would soon build a factory in Batam.

"Caterpillar is one of them which will soon invest. It has announced the plan in Honolulu," Azhar said.

Regarding the tax holiday, Azhar said the government would speed up the extension of the facility. He said the process for the issuance of the license could be finished in 14 days.

On BKPM targets, he said that it had set itself an investment target of Rp283 trillion in 2012, Rp383 trillion in 2013 and Rp500 trillion in 2014.(*)
